Juvenile Eastern Spinebill feeding in Grevilleas 8/4/14 Middle Ridge

There are 2 pacific bazas. One is building the nest (male?) while the other sits on a nearby branch watching.

We had 2 yellow tailed black cockatoos this morning also high up in the gum trees in the yard 28/9/13

A first for us at Niddrie Dve! We have a Pacific Baza nesting in a very flimsy structure about 20m up a gum tree in our yard. 28/9/13

Heard the first Channel-billed cuckoo of the season making a loud racket in Glen Lomond Park, just behind Niddrie Drive, Middle Ridge.

We have an eastern spinebill in the garden everyday since 22/04/13 and we also heard a pair (?) of southern boobooks calling that night. Wonga pigeon on 23/04.
Also had a pair of golden whistlers and grey fantail today 24/04.

Confirmation sighting of 3 yellow tailed black cockatoos in an Acacia tree in the garden this morning. Amazing birds!

We now have a cute little tawny sitting in the nest with mum/dad. Hatched about a week to ten days ago. Unfortunately I found another chick dead on the ground below the nest.
