Singing Honeyeater at Irongate

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

Last Friday, 29.01.2010, I saw a single Singing Honeyeater at Irongate Conservation Park near Pittsworth SEQ. This is the furtherest east in SEQ that I have ever recorded the species to date. It does not appear on the bird checklist for the conservation park. The nearest to here that I can recollect seeing the species is at the Lake Broadwater Conservation Park via Dalby SEQ. The habitat at Irongate is very typical of that of the Singing Honeyeater.

The bird was also seen by fellow QPWS employees Robert Ashdown and Raelene Neilson.

Regards,
Rod Hobson
