Six additions from the October Species Census

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Some nice birds were seen during the recent species census (23-26 October) including a pair of White-eared Monarchs in Redwood Park near the bottom creek crossing, and a family of Spotted Quail-thrush (at least 4 birds, including 2 juvenile birds) along White Mountain Rd, northeast of Murphys Creek. Been a long time between drinks for the latter.

A Gull-billed Tern at Helidon was a bonus. We have only a handful of records of this species in the local survey area over the 40 years of club records.
