Oxley Creek Common on a rainy afternoon

Why should the locals have all the fun? To give those of you who don't live in the Toowoomba area an incentive to report your sightings and strut your stuff, here's a challenge especially for you! 250 species collectively in a season. The survey area we'll make anywhere within 250 km of Toowoomba, but excluding the TBO survey area. I've set a higher, but very fair target as well. See how you go. Locals can help with the 'outside' tally too and vice versa. Looking forward to some new names on the forum!

Not listed in Michael's update but already seen are-
At Enoggera - Eastern Whipbird.
At Sherwood Park-Bluefaced Honeyeater

Today in light rain went to Oxley Creek Common for a short time and saw 51 species which is good for a place so close to Brisbane.
Species seen that are not in the Survey list so far were:
Pheasant Coucal
Common Koel [Heard only]
Latham's Snipe[2 pairs]
Figbirds[large colony]
Double-barred Finch
Plum-headed Finch
Tawny Grassbird
Golden-headed Cisticloa
Silvereye
Other birds also seen that are already in the survey include several pairs of Brown Quail, Glossy Ibis, Australian Hobby, Nankeen Kestrel, and the usual common water birds, cormorants, dotterels and ducks . Also both Red-backed and Superb Fairy-wrens, Chestnut-breasted Mannikins, and Martins.
