Lace monitor 21/11/09
On Saturday 21/11/09 after hearing the agitated calls of about 10 noisy miners I discovered a lace monitor about 120 cm long climbing in the higher branches of a Wallangarra White Gum (Eucalyptus scoparia) in our front garden. The birds were making a concerted effort to distract the lizard from his climb by divebombing him and make a huge racket. After about 20 minutes of noise all went quiet and I couldn't locate the lizard so the miners succeeded! This is the first monitor we've seen for a couple of years and it was smaller than our previous visitors.
