Lace Monitors (Ben Turner)

It's not their fault they don't have feathers! Doesn't make them any less interesting. And just like the birds, it's good to know what species are about locally at any given time.

There's expertise within the club and beyond on most aspects of our local fauna. Let's tap into it.

Lace Monitors (Ben Turner)

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Work colleague Ben Turner sent me a photo of a large Lace Monitor on the road between Chinchilla and Auburn. Said he saw 4 or 5 while driving along that stretch on 25/9/07 on what was a nice warm Spring day.

It's interesting because, while I've seen plenty, I can't ever recall seeing one while driving along any stretch of road!!

Lace Monitors on Road

Post by Brendon & Judi Gray »

I did see a medium sized Lace Monitor on the Cooby Dam Road last week, which quickly hurried off to the side. Bright Yellow patterns really stood out. I did actually think at the time that i hadn't ever really seen any on the road before this either.
