It's been a tardy start. Only 77 species reported so far! Target is 250.

Going by the regional list below, there are 333 species still up for grabs!!

If you see any of them this Autumn, please be proactive and post your sightings. Positive generates positive. Spread the word about the TBO's 'online communal twitchathon all season long!' .

In doing so, everyone can benefit from the timely birding information in this region.

You do not have to be a member of the club to contribute. Just register on this forum, which is necessary so we can sort you out from the spammers. It's just a small inconvenience, but not much to ask, is it?

Also, to post a list of sightings, you can copy and paste e.g. from the list below, to save typing, then edit as required.

The 250 km radius we've allowed for this small 250-spp target is extremely generous. (Can always up the target, or decrease the area - I'll let your postings do the talking!). The 250km radius extends to:
  • * Gayndah, Tairo and Tin Can Bay to the north
    * The coast between Tin Can Bay and Ballina to the east - offshore pelagic sightings will count too
    * About 30 km north of Glen Innes , to the south
    * About 30 km south of Goondiwindi, to the southwest
    * West to Westmar and Erringibba NP (just east of Glenmorgan on the Surat-Tara Rd), and
    * about 10km west and northwest of Miles
Note: The BEYOND region excludes the club's official survey area, which is a rectangular region extending from Kingsthorpe, NW of Toowoomba, to the Mt Whitestone area, SE of Helidon. Sightings in this core region should be posted under the WITHIN listing on this Forum.

Therefore, most of the local wetlands including Cooby Dam, and those around Laidley, Gatton and Esk are not within the club's local survey area, but are in the BEYOND survey area, so make the most of them.
