Immature blackbird in South Toowoomba (Hugh Krenske)

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Hugh photographed an immature bird in his garden 14/3/08 as well as the area it had been scratching in. This was the first time he'd seen one at his place. Hugh's property at 210 West St borders the City Golf Club.

This is of some concern. It's the second reliable record from South Toowoomba area and it suggests to me there is probably a separate breeding population in the South Toowoomba area too.

If you live in or visit that area, or play golf on that course, please be extra vigilant and report any further sightings.

Thanks Hugh for the report.
