Same rules as for Autumn 2007 i.e. sightings anywhere within a 250 km radius of Toowoomba, but excluding the local survey area (see below), for the period 1 June - 31 August.

Here are some records of bird species on a jaunt to Cooloola for the weekend:

Emu -Camp Milo, Cooloola NP
Great Cormorant -The Spit, Lake Somerset
Osprey -Inskip Point, Cooloola NP
Collared Sparrowhawk -Rainbow Beach
Lewin's Rail -Cooloola NP -heathland (T&T Ground Parrot site) -at least 2 birds heard by ten observers
Black-breasted Button-quail (5) -Inskip Point, Cooloola NP (various observers)
Whimbrel -Inskip Point, Cooloola NP
Double-banded Plover (several in breeding plumage)-Inskip Point, Cooloola NP
Gull-billed Tern -Inskip Point, Cooloola NP
Crested Tern -Inskip Point, Cooloola NP
Wompoo Fruit-Dove -Bymien, Cooloola NP
Ground Parrot (1 flushed, several heard over two nights) -heathland (T&T Ground Parrot site) Cooloola NP
Shining Bronze-Cuckoo -2 heard Camp Milo
