Same rules as for Winter 2007 i.e. sightings anywhere within a 250 km radius of Toowoomba, but excluding the local survey area (see below), for the period 1 Sep - 30 Nov 2007.

Plumed Whistling-Duck.

Wandering Whistling-Duck (6: 2 in one flock and 4 in another).

Black Swan (2).

Australian Wood Duck.

Cotton Pygmy-goose (2, male and female in the cove closest to the "Lights On The Hill" memorial).

Pacific Black Duck.

Grey Teal.

Hardhead.

Australasian Grebe.

Darter (1).

Little Pied Cormorant.

Little Black Cormorant.

Australian Pelican.

Cattle Egret.

Australian White Ibis.

Royal Spoonbill (1).

Purple Swamphen.

Dusky Moorhen.

Eurasian Coot.

Black-winged Stilt.

Black-fronted Dotterel.

*Red-kneed Dotterel* (1, eastern side of Lake Freeman).

Masked Lapwing.

Nankeen Kestrel (2 @ Colquhouns Swamp).

Black-winged Stilt (1 @ Colquhouns Swamp).

Noisy Miner (Colquhouns Swamp).

Grey-crowned Babbler (Near Colquhouns Rd).

Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike (Colquhouns Swamp).

Pied Butcherbird (Near Colquhouns Rd).

Australian Magpie (Colquhouns Swamp).

Welcome Swallow (Near Colquhouns Rd).



We were on Ma Ma Creek Rd, just a few metres away from the Gatton-Helidon Rd and we saw some ducks fly into a dam, easily accessible from the road. We went to check it out and we were well rewarded with the following list.

Bar-shouldered Dove (Heard only).
