Black-eared Cuckoo (Kay & Kev Williams, Olive Booth)

Thanks to replenishing rains in the Lockyer Valley, we're well placed for a record haul in 2009. No excuses why we can't give 250 spp a real shake. Over to you ...

Black-eared Cuckoo (Kay & Kev Williams, Olive Booth)

Post by Mick Atzeni »

A Black-eared Cuckoo seen and photographed along Lockyer Creek Road, Helidon, on Saturday, 18th April by Kevin, Kay and Olive. A lifer for all three and a nice photo taken by Kevin appears in this month's (May 2009) newsletter.

A very rare species locally. Only three records between 1975 and 2000 for the survey area. Perhaps no more than 7 club records all up, and all in the Lockyer Valley if memory serves me correctly.

Well done guys!
