Lyrebirds, Wombats and Quolls

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

I've just spent an enthralling hour going through a large number of sequences taken by QPWS staff outside active Common Wombat (Vombatus ursinus) dens in Girraween N.P., SEQ over June until early July 2009. Aside to lots of wombat activity thereabouts the den entrances have been visited by Swamp Wallaby (Wallabia bicolor), Black Rat (Rattus rattus) and, on the 02.07.2009, a 'red-letter day'; a single male Superb Lyrebird* and a Spotted-tailed Quoll (Dasyurus maculatus). Except for the rodent quite an impressive parade of Girraween's very special denizens.
