Albert's Lyrebird and others

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

Six new birds for "Winter Beyond - 2009" with the best being of an Albert's Lyrebird on Mt. Mitchell on the 07/07/2009 courtesy of Sue and Joe Scanlan. The others are Southern Boobook at Junction View on the 19/07/2009 (R.H.), Mangrove Gerygone on the banks of the Brisbane River, University of Queensland campus, St. Lucia on the 18/07/2009 (R.H.), Whiskered Tern (R.H., M.W.) and a lone Marsh Sandpiper (R.H.) at Lake Broadwater on 21/07/2009, also Glossy Black Cockatoo in Stretchworth State Forest on the same day (R.H., M.W.).

Of note, also, at Lake Broadwater were 13 x Red-capped Plovers and 50+ Black-fronted Dotterels all in a short stretch of lake side near the caretaker's residence.
