Owlet-Nightjar at Upper Lockyer

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Folks

Up before sunrise this morning trying to in track down some feral pigs doing a bit of damage around here at present. No luck there but heard Tawny Frogmouth, White-throated Nightjar (very vocal; apparently a much better time to listen out for them as I haven't been hearing them in the evenings) and Australian Owlet-nightjar. The latter species is new for the year Challenge

It is also a new bird for "Tiddalac". Must confess I'm surprised it took so long to add this species, and again, pre-dawn might be the better time to be out listening. Have now recorded 146 species on "Tiddalac" in a year and a half
