Emerald Dove and others

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

On the morning of the 02nd April I was was returning from a walk around Prince Henry Drive, Toowoomba when a single Emerald Dove flew across my path into Redwood Park. This was near the junction of Prince Henry Drive and Bridge Street. The bird came from the bushland abutting the old quarry. This is the first of this species that I've seen around the Toowoomba area for quite a few years now.

Two other species for the local autumn list for this year are Red Wattlebird on Prince Henry Drive on the 03.04.2010, also on Tobruk Drive, Picnic Point on the 11.04.2010. The third species to add is Southern Boobook in Sugars Park, Toowoomba on 10.04.2010. There is a pair of these owls resident in this small suburban park.

Regards,
Rod Hobson
