Brown Gerygone and Others.

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

A few more species for the "Autumn Within - 2010":

Brown Gerygone x 1 on Prince Henry Drive, Toowoomba on 14.04.2010 (also a single of this species along the Fern Tree Gully Walk, Redwood Park on 14.05.2010).

Spectacled Monarch x 2 on Prince Henry Drive, Toowoomba on 14.04.2010.

A male Regent Bowerbird on Gatton Creek, Redwood Park on 16.05.2010.

A Large-billed Scrubwren on Gatton Creek, Redwood Park on 16.05.2010.

Some other interesting sightings along Gatton Creek today were a pair of Brown Cuckoo-Doves, a single Emerald Dove and a small party of bathing White-naped Honeyeaters. Also along this creek last Friday I flushed a roosting Southern Boobook and today I found an old Noisy Pitta anvil along the upper reaches of the creek. All shell remains strewn about the anvil site were of the large native land snail Pedinogyra hayii.
