Peregrine Falcon et al.

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Pair of Peregrines over "Tiddalac" around noon today. Started the day off well with a pair of Red-tailed Black-Cockatoos in a gum at the back of the house this morning. That got me out of bed!

A quick look along the start of White Mountain Rd, Fifteen Mile, via Murphy's Creek, yielded plenty of bushbirds including Varied Sittella and Striated Thornbills, both new for Winter. The latter were unusually abundant, and saw one feeding a juvenile. Also saw my first spinebills for the Winter. Seem thin on the ground this season as sometimes happens. None seen or heard at Upper Lockyer so far this year.
