At Highfield Falls last Sunday morning 8/8/2010 Kevin Williams and I saw three Large-billed Scrubwrens about 2 to 3 metres away beside the track.

Large-billed Scrubwrens

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Steve

I'm happy to be corrected, but to the best of my knowledge this is the first report of this species at Highfields Falls. Since your report I've seen one there myself, carrying nesting material on 19/8. I mentioned it to Pat McConnell and he too was surprised to hear they were there.

I guess I've been more surprised it has taken so long to record them there as the habitat looks ideal. Anyone else have records of this species at Highfields Falls?

Cheers
Mick

That's good to hear Mick. I was out there this morning 28/8/2010 and saw one again.
