Any swifts?

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Last year, White-throated Needletails arrived at Upper Lockyer in early October. See

Mike Tarburton who collates swift records Australia-wide later advised this was the first QLD record of the season. This season I haven't seen any.

Has anyone seen any locally this spring? Please post details of all swift sightings including an estimate of the numbers. Mike Tarburton relies on forums like ours to gather White-throated Needletail and Fork-tailed Swift data each year.

Cheers

White-throated Needletails at Upper Lockyer

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Seems talking about it does the trick. Had 20+ WTNTs pass over home yesterday afternoon around 6:15. Still need Fork-tailed Swifts. None reported so far this year.

Now let's discuss Red Goshawks ...

Cheers
Mick :)
