New Spring sightings

Have had the pleasure of spending almost all of this week showing a birding friend from central Victoria the delights of SEQ birding, as well as chasing some lifers for her (she managed five in five days). Highlights were Eastern Grass Owl at Marcoola, Marbled Frogmouth at Mapleton, Black-breasted Button-quail at Inskip Point, Lesser Crested Tern at Bribie, and Paradise Riflebird at Mary Caincross Park, Maleny. We also got first contact of season with Brush Cuckoo (Marcoola 14/9), Eastern Koel (Maleny 15/9) and Dollarbird (Rainbow Beach 17/9).
