Square-tailed Kite

Mum and I saw our first STK for 2011 hovering low over trees near the Bracker Road and New England Highway intersection at Warwick last Sunday (23/1). It was terrific to watch gliding from one cluster of trees to another. :D

Another STK

Post by Nicholas Matheson-Kozakis »

Last Tuesday (15/2) TAS tennis training was made that bit more interesting since a STK was gliding from nearby treetop to nearby treetop (at SCOTS Oxenham Street Campus).

Thanks, Nick

Yesterday late morning I saw my first pair of STKs soaring above Wood St, near the Buckaroo Motel in Warwick. A couple of years ago while near SCOTS I saw a pair of STKs courting. Let's see if it happens this year too. I'm also hanging out for the Black Falcons to return! (Watch this space!)

Thanks, Nick :D
