Wedgies and lapwings

Post by sburke »

This morning while Jeff & I were taking coffee at the bay/viewing window I heard a bit of a commotion being made by the Masked Lapwings down on the flats. When I got up to investigate with my binnies I could see the reason for the ruckus.......the resident pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles were flying very low over the paddocks down in the valley and being chased by the lapwings up the hill back to their tree covered hilltop. I believe their territory is centred quite close to here as I see them quite regularly.

Cheers from Russell-Ridge, Stoneleigh :)
