New birds for Autumn

Post by gileas »

Hi all,

I haven't been getting much birding in this year, but I have some scattered additions to the list for Autumn Beyond. It's been a good month for me, with South Island Pied Oystercatcher and White-fronted Honeyeater (neither of which were found by me, but I did manage to see both!), and then crippling views of a Spotless Crake at Sherwood Arboretum. Sherwood is looking good for rails and crakes again after a long period of inactivity, because post-flood there are now muddy edges visible again! So bring on the Bush Hen and Spotless Crake sightings.

Regards,
Chris
