Some Additions from Karara & Durakai

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

I was just reading the excellent newsletter of the Toowoomba Field Naturalists Club. In it there is a very informative article on their August 08th outing to Durakai S.F. and the Karara area. They sure saw some great birds and it's well worth a read for anyone interested in the birds of those places. Among the lists given were several species still missing from our "Winter Beyond - 2011" list as follows:

Karara SEQ:

Turquoise Parrot
Rufous Songlark

Durakai Waterhole

Yellow-tufted Honeyeater
White-plumed Honeyeater
Brown-headed Honeyeater
White-naped Honeyeater
Crested Shrike-tit

Durakai S.F. (south-eastern end):

Glossy Black Cockatoo

Durakai S.F. (north-eastern end):

White-eared Honeyeater

Time for TBO members to extract the digit. Fancy getting gazumped by our fellows in the TFN!

Regards,
Rod Hobson
