Red-tailed Black Cockatoo

Post by smyliekylie »

I was heading home from Mick's place in Middle Ridge after the Karara outing (3/9/11). It's kinda hard to stop looking skywards after such an outing, which I was doing as soon as I turned onto Rowbotham St. Just before I got to where Stenner St crosses Rowbotham, I hear and then see these two majestic looking Red-tailed Black Cockatoos flying parallel to Rowbotham just over the ridge. The driver coming towards me kindly reminded me with a loud toot of his horn that I was actually driving. Once I'd gotten back onto the right side of the road, I pulled over to see if I could find them again, for my physical photographic diary, because they're definitely implanted in my visual memory!
Cheers, and thanks for a great day in Karara/ Durakai State Forest!
