Additional Species from the Granite Belt

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

Yesterday (22.12.11) I spent doing a quick run through the Warwick and Granite Belt areas checking on some of my old survey sites. It was a very productive day and I recorded some great birds and other animals including a mixed mob of macropods loitering by the roadside near Connolly Dam. This group comprised a pair of Common Wallaroos, two Red-necked Wallabies and eight of our elegant Whiptail Wallabies. On my way home I saw a female Koala with a well advanced joey on her back near Storm King Dam and on the dam itself the unusual sight of a pair of loitering Pied Cormorants.
