White-eared Monarch
Two White-eared Monarchs were present down the bottom of Redwood Park this morning, just north of the foot bridge and near where recent rehabilitation has taken place. There may have even been a third bird.

White-eared Monarchs in Winter
Michael
A great record as I'm pretty sure it's the first local winter record the club has ever received. Pat McConnell sent me the months they were recorded in for the period 1975-2000 and they were all Summer/Autumn records as indicated below:
1991 – December
1993 – January, March and April
1995 - April
2000 – April
We'll look into this further but it was interesting to read Roger McNeill's recent posting on birding-aus saying they are in his patch (I think Roger lives in the Samford area) and have already started breeding. See
