[UNCONFIRMED] Brown Treecreeper

Provided flooding rains don't spoil the party again, only slackness will prevent us nailing 230+ species this year.

[UNCONFIRMED] Brown Treecreeper

Post by Michael Wood »

Darren Fielder has passed on a report of Brown Treecreeper from Rockmount Road, Rockmount (Bruce Thompson was another observer who saw the bird/s at the time). [The habitat across the road from semi-tropical woodland/forest looks ideal for the species, just east of where the breeding White-throated Nightjars were seen a few years ago.]

Wow!! That would be the second new species for the club this year, as well as the clincher for the Challenge record. But first we'll need a Rare Bird Report submission from Darren &/or Bruce and then acceptance by the Rarities Committee.

Be great if Darren or Bruce got some photos.

Thanks for reporting Michael.

Cheers
Mick

Great sighting!

I have a memory of a record of Brown Treecreeper from Craig Eddie at Jack Duggan Park some years back.

Is this in the club's records anywhere?
