Dollarbird, Bell Miner & Painted Button-Quail

Post by Michael Wood »

Two Dollarbird were seen within JE Duggan Park this morning (25/9/2012), whilst some Bell Miner were again heard a short distance to the east of the location. It sounded as though the miners were in the woodland just the other side of Kara View Court.

Also, a female Painted Button-Quail was seen well along the Pardalote Walk, Picnic Point, this morning. A Carpet Python was also sighted. (I also had slightly less than ideal views of what was a probable White-breasted Woodswallow and heard the call of what I believe was a Black-faced Monarch.)

Dollarbird

Kath and I also saw three Dollarbirds at Highfields on 26 September. A Buff-banded Rail was also seen dead on the Old Goombungee Road this morning. This is the third one we have seen dead along this road in the last couple of weeks.
