A couple more for Spring

Post by smyliekylie »

Had a lovely drive to Bunya Mountains on Sunday, 9 Sept. Saw
a very old looking Wedgetail Eagle perched in a tree. This was on the Maidenwell-Bunya Mtn Rd about 18K from Bunya Mtns.

At the Bunya Mtns, only did a short walk to the Paradise Falls. Saw a few birds that Kay & Kev have already mentioned, also
Pied Currawong
White brow Scrub Wren
Yellow-throated Scrub Wren
Grey Shrike Thrush
Heard plenty of Whip bird calls
heard heaps of other calls, but not quite up to IDing from calls yet, still learning :-)

Then on the way back,
- Black faced cuckoo shrikes, Bell
- over the tip near Jondaryan along the highway, saw at least 6 Black Kites.
- And between Dalby & Oakey along the highway saw at least 3 Black Shouldered Kites and I lost count of the Nankeen Kestrels.

Cheers,
Kylie :-)
