White-browed Woodswallows

Post by sburke »

Driving home this afternoon 12/10/12 I disturbed a group of approximately 30 White-browed Woodswallows feeding on the road and the verge near home. They flew off as I pulled off the road at the spot and was happy to see most of them fly back down to the road and start foraging again. Some came right up to the car. The colour of the adults at this range is truly spectacular.

As I drove around the corner I could see the rest of the flock flying over a lucerne paddock about 100 metres away.

Also, Monday morning (8/10/12) I spotted a Yellow-billed Spoonbill at the waste water pond in front of the Pittsworth Motor Inn while on my way to work.

Cheers :)
