Big Day on southern Sunshine Coast

Post by Russ Lamb »

To reorientate birding mate Ken Cross back into Aussie birds after his 14 months in British Columbia and the USA,on Wednesday we had a leisurely Big Day covering Ewan Maddock Dam, Upper Coochin Creek at Beerwah, Godwin Beach, Bribie Island, Bishops Lagoon, Toorbul and points inbetween. Highlights included Little Tern and Little Grassbird (4) at Ewan Maddock Dam, Brolga at Bishops Lagoon, and a persistent Peregrine Falcon disturbing the waders at Toorbul, where we also found Jill Denning hosting a birding-pal couple from Oregon,USA.
