McEwan State Forest

Post by sburke »

We went hiking in McEwan S/F to the creek at the back and found two Wedge-tailed Eagle nests (one very large) in the same tree overlooking the valley. There were lots of Welcome Swallows flying up and down the creek and four Ground Cuckoo-shrikes. New bird for my McEwan S/F list.
Yesterday 22/9/2013.

Question: Are Ground Cuckoo-shrikes sedentary/territorial as I have seen this species in this same corner of the district ever since I moved out here three years ago.
