Blue Bonnets (Gloria Glass)

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Three Bluebonnets at Silverleigh cemetery on Friday 5 Oct at 9.30am. They were just sitting in a tree, trying to live out the heat, though one panicked and flew, and that’s how I saw them.

Cemetery is between Goombungee and Acland, down an overgrown [with weeds] dirt road from the Acland-Silverleigh Rd in front of the Greenwood Lutheran Church. Look on Downs & Lockyer map Book Map 22, at 1D – probably shown as Volls’ Rd but you have to enter from the top [north] as the rd is closed below the cemetery. Cem is within a ploughed and planted field, if you are thinking of going there. Birds were in the trees inside the ploughed field to the left as you enter.
