Five more birds for Spring Beyond-2008

Post by Rod Hobson »

Mick,

More sightings from Queensland Parks and Wildlife employees Karen Smith at Bowenville and Peter Haselgrove at Sundown National Park. Karen just told me of a pair of Spotted Harriers that nested and raised young on their property near Bowenville, SEQ. The harriers were there from late winter and departed the last week of September this year. Five Black-faced Woodswallows (and a Rufous Fantail) are presently ensconced in their house yard at Bowenville.

Peter Haselgrove from Sundown National Park adds Red-capped Robin, White-browed Babbler and Southern Whiteface to the list. All three birds are presently about in the vicinity of the information centre and ranger's residence at Sundown N.P. Thanks Karen and Peter.

Regards,
Rod H.
