Five Additional Birds

Post by Rod Hobson »

Folks,

Whilst on a property inspection around the old and abandoned Queensland Government arsenic mine on "Peakvale" between Stanthorpe and Texas this last Tuesday Mark Weaver and I recorded five new birds for the TBO's "Spring Beyond - 2010" list. They were Brown Goshawk, Diamond Firetail, Cicadabird, White-eared Honeyeater and Red Wattlebird. Other species of interest seen in this area included Eastern Rosella, Turquoise Parrot, White-winged Chough, Brush Cuckoo, Australian King Parrot, Fuscous Honeyeater, Singing Honeyeater, Musk Lorikeet, Scarlet Honeyeater and Little Lorikeet. A stand of flowering Mugga was attracting a lot of these birds.

Regards,
Rod Hobson
