New sightings for us this year

Post by kevin and kay williams »

Seen but unfortunately not photographed at bottom end of Redwood Park 20th July - a Powerful owl adult. It was in the new walking track on the right (downstream) of main forest walk .

Also an exciting sighting at the western end of Toowoomba Airport on Sun 22nd July - a Bush Stone-curlew.

Well done Kev and Kay. Many years since I've seen or heard of a Powerful Owl in that section of Redwood.

The Bush Stone-curlew is also new for the year. Relieved to know that bird's still around. Looked for it a couple of times recently in the usual places near Beacon Crt without success.

Regards
Mick
