The first list was compiled in March 1999 while the Baxter's Hill property was on the market. Subsequent clearing by the previous owner and to a lesser extent the current developer, has unfortunately reduced the available BBBQ habitat on the southern side of the hill, and triggered a proliferation of weeds on the edge of their habitat.
The species seen over winter have been a peculiar mix of drier country species in the cleared areas, and vine scrub species seen along Toowoomba's eastern and southern escarpment.

Four more for list ... and one less Brush-turkey
Four new ones for Birdwood Sanctuary, seen 13/9/08 by Nicci Thompson, Russell Jenkins & myself.
Black-shouldered Kite
Spotted Pardalote
Leaden Flycatcher
Figbird
Again saw fresh Black-breasted Button-quail platelets in a number of places along the southern slope but still haven't lucked onto the birds yet.
Of immediate concern though is the presence of a fine-looking fox, seen by Nicci carrying a Brush-turkey. One of its prey's wings was found nearby, and a bunch of brush-turkey tail or wing feathers - presumably the victim's were found in the adjacent vine scrub, and very close to where the BBBQ have been active in the past couple of days.
There have also been two separate sightings of feral cats on the land in recent times according to the developers.
