Think you've seen the first for the season? Post details here and let's see if you're right ...

Little Eagles are back!

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Pair of Little Eagles over Withcott yesterday (21/3). These are predominantly autumn-winter birds in our area.

Another Little Eagle

Post by Mick Atzeni »

A light phase Little Eagle over Redwood Park this morning (29/4) around 9am while I was driving up the range. Anyone else seen them this Autumn?

Over work today (QPI&F, Wilsonton), a Brown Goshawk and an Australian Hobby. Around 9:45am, had a pair of interesting looking raptors soaring in the distance. Shallow upswept wings, fairly pale underparts (I was thinking Grey Goshawk at one stage), brownish(?) upperparts, rounded tail and what looked like black tips to wings but too far away to ID. Hate it when that happens!
