Terry Ward lives on Anthony's Rd, Postman's Ridge, and works on the property "Tiddalac" where I live at Upper Lockyer. He informs me he saw a pair of Bush Stone-curlews at his property around 5pm on Wednesday 24/11/10.
As far as I know, this is the only record of a pair in the local survey area. The handful of other records over the past 30+ years have all been individual birds.
In fact, this was actually the second time Terry had seen them there. By sheer co-incidence, the first time was within 24hrs of me finding a single bird at "Tiddalac", about 10km north, on 5th Sept. See:

Next morning, I had shown Terry my photos of the bird, which was in "freeze" mode. He is not a birdwatcher but when he chanced upon the pair at his place and observed the same behaviour, he just had to tell me he'd seen two himself. Amazing stuff! What are the odds?
Thanks Terry. Hope these turn out to be a breeding pair.
