Bee-eaters and Blackbirds

Post by Pat McConnell »

March has seen some Rainbow Bee-eaters on the move. On 17 March I saw a flock of about 20 flying over USQ heading north and on 26 March I saw a smaller flock flying over Highfields also heading north. The Blackbird is still at Highfields today (30 March) although won't be for long if the Noisy Miners have their way. The Blackbird barely lands before the miners chase it. I think it is a young male.
