Little Bronze-Cuckoo

Migrant arrival dates are always a hot topic, particularly, the spring/summer migrants.

Think you've seen the first for the season? Post details here and let's see if you're right ...

Little Bronze-Cuckoo

Post by Mick Atzeni »

Our team recorded this species in three localities on the Species Census (28.10.06) along the Upper and Lower Flagstone Ck Rds, including along the creek near the Stockyard Ck junction, where they've been recorded in the past.

From my experience, Flagstone Ck is the best area for this migrant locally. The key to picking them up is to familiarise yourself with its disticntive 4-5 note call. Unfortunately, they're more often heard than seen.
